HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Ok, so I have some really great pictures to put on here but unfortunately my afghanistan internet is not cooperating tonight! Oh well, I'll get them up hopefully by the weekend. Well, today was Thanksgiving but other than having turkey served to me by Major's and being greeted by Colonel's, it was just another day at the office for me! I have been working pretty regularly the last few days after getting classes done when i first got here. I generally work about a 12 hour shift in the TOC, and thus far I've been on days. Hopefully flying will start up pretty soon, as I have been told the Apache company wants me to fly as often as I can get out of the TOC, so we will see how that works out. I am looking forward to getting up and seeing this place from the air. It rained the other night and apparently froze over before morning so that all of the mountains surrrounding Bagram were covered in a white blanket of snow! Absolutely gorgeous! Life is pretty mundane in the sense that no one seems to keep track of what day it is, simply because somebody's working 24/7! The menu of the day is quickly becoming the way to tell what day of the week it is, whether it's Mexican Monday, Italian Wednesday or Surf and Turf Friday! But today of course was turkey, and not too shabby turkey at that. I did miss out on some stuffing simply because they had not refilled it when i came through the line, other than that it was a great Thanksgiving meal!

I will say that despite being away from family and friends, there are still plenty of things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. I'm glad I have a room with sheets and a pillow (that's right, I finally got my box of stuff I sent before leaving) and access to internet so I can talk to family pretty regularly! I am thankful for all of the support and love that Kim and I have felt from everyone since I left, and we cherish everyone we have to lean on. In closing, I hope you all have a wonderful and truly Happy Thanksgiving!! I will try to get pics up as soon as my internet will allow! God Bless!!
