Ok, so go figure the one time I'm out flying around and I get some amazing pictures, the internet will only allow me to load 1 picture! Oh well, I will just have to get the others up another time. I did get to fly yesterday for the second time, but it was my first mission per se. I only flew a measley 7.3 hours! It went really well and without any incident (no make big boom with the apache yet!) It was originally scheduled to be a 5 hour flight, but it went a little longer than expected. We got to see some amazing mountain ranges, all of which were covered in snow. It was all so untouched and quite breathtaking to behold. We flew into Polish country down south and they actually hooked us up with some lunch while refueling (chicken strips, rice and green beans! I know Kim and mom are thinking, but he doesn't eat green beans! When flying that long anything tastes good, especially if it's a surprise!) I guess I can never say the Polish didn't do anything for me after that lunch, which was topped off with some gatorade. The laugh of the flight came when an unsuspecting civilian tried to get an up close look at a Chinook while it took off. You can imagine his surprise when a wall of dirt and snow flew in his face from the rotor wash! The guy I was flying with and I both cracked up as we watched on our video (maybe sounds mean, but I've seen worse done to people by Chinooks, mainly them getting knocked off their feet when I was at West Point!) All in all it was a great flight and hopefully more will follow. Unfortunately only the picture below will load. It was taken just south of Bagram towards the beginning of our trek. Hope you all enjoy and check back later for some more!
