Hello again from paradise!

OK, so maybe Bagram, Afghanistan is not the first spot that comes to mind when you think paradise, it's definitely not my first thought either. Things are going well though in this spot of the world, the temps are coming down and the winds have finally gone away (the 120 days of wind as they call it, finally subsiding which makes for a lot better flying). The last two months have flown by and I can't believe it's already midway through August! July was pretty busy as I was on nights and pretty much everyone has been on shift every night of the week. It's been a non-stop pace and probably will not slow down before we leave in November. I'm still enjoying the platoon leader job and have been catching up to my peers in the hours category. I actually broke 200 hours in Afghanistan alone about 2 weeks ago which was good. Don't know if I will make 500 total hours before we leave but hoepfully i'[ll get pretty close. In other news, I am ready for 2 weeks of touring Europe and it will be a much anticipated break from the grind of Bagram. Only a couple of weeks left!! Kim and I are ready to see each other and sightsee in Europe. I'm ready for football as well (and saddened that I will only be able to learn of Louisville beating Kentucky on Sept 4th via the internet!). All in all things are good and I am on the back side of this thing now. Only about 3 months to go with 2 weeks spent in europe, so this is too easy! Hope everything is going well back in the states and thanks again for all the love and support you've shown Kim and I. Take care and have a great week! Below are some recent pictures. Enjoy!
