So, Travis and I have about 7 weeks to go and I don't think time can pass any slower for me!! Travis is SO busy flying nights this month, so he doesn't hardly have time to think about the time moving slowly. Gut today I sent all my information for flying Space-A. This is a service the military offers...it is a deeply discounted way to fly overseas, but unfortunatly, nothing is guaranteed. But everything will work out and I am really not too worried. I will get there one way or anything. Nothing will stop me from seeing my man for two weeks of uninterrupted 'us' time.
So, here I wait...and wait...and wait. But to help pass my time here, I have been staying busy with all my amazing friends. First off, I don't think I mentioned this but we are all training for something called the Iron Viper Challenge. This is an event that the Army offers to the soldiers to do...well, they have opened up a 'spouse' version for us. They say we will be apart of the LGN club...Look Good Naked. (The guys deployed came up with this name, but hopefully by the end, I will be a proud member.) Well, what the Iron Viper entails is 35 sit-ups in 2 minutes, 20 push-ups in 2 minutes, 1 mile run in 9 minutes, and a 6 mile ruck with 20-35 LBS on your back in 1.5 hours. BRUTAL! What am I thinking?? Well, all my girlfriends with deployed husbands are participating and it is just a fun activity for us to do to kind of get a taste of what our husbands go through. We are calling our little group the Riveting Rosies. Well, the event happens on Oct. 2, so I will let you all know how I do. I think I will just be happy to finish!!
This past weekend I went with my friend, her daughter, and her parents on a Hearse Tour. The city of Savannah has like a million tours to go on, and Travis and I didn't get a chance to explore, so, I was excited to go. It is a tour of all the haunted places in downtown Savannah. It wasn't scary at all, the tour guide was more funny then scary, but I had a great time.
