What I have learned...

This first week of being apart while Travis was at Rucker taught me a couple of things. I kept imagining that this is what it will be like when he is deployed, minus getting to text eachother back and forth. So, this is what I learned about myslef:
1- I learned that the bed is awfully big for one person!
2- I learned that I have a very active imagination, especially at night. This is something I will have to defeat when he leaves for the year.
3- I learned that when I sleep alone, I don't nearly get at hot as I do when Travis is next to me. If you know us well, you know that Travis is always amazed at how hot my legs get. I think it is a family trait. But seriously, my legs can get so HOT, but not this week. This week I am sleeping in long pants, with two blankets over me. (That is not normal for me) and I am getting cold!
4- I learned that our cat is such a snuggler! She has cuddled more with me this week, than she has in the last year of her life probably. I love it!
5- I learned how loud my husband really is. He is constantly making musical noises. He normally is shaking his legs, taping his hands/feet, or making music from his mouth. And I realized that the house is SO quiet when he is not here!
6- I learned it is really difficult to cook for one person. I guess I will have to get creative, so I don't live off of cereal for a year! :)
7- I learned the hardest part of the day is around 3-5 when I don't get to look forward to giving Travis a big hug when he gets home from work! :(
8-I learned that I can be very independent and strong!!! I actually moved a mattress and box spring set all by myself from one room to the next and set it up on the mattress stand. I can do anything I set my mind to...I mean I even mow my own grass! Thats a big deal to me!

That is about all that I learned. It will be a difficult year apart, but I have faith that we will do awesome with it! This week was a tasting of what it will be like. The last thing that I learned is that I HAVE to find something to get me out of the house! Whether that be volunteering or a job, I WILL get involved in something!
Thanks for checking in. Travis (supposedly) comes home on friday :)!!! We are excited! Unless, the Army changes their mind...which has been known to happen! I will keep you all updated! Have a great week!

I'm so glad that Foxy has stepped up to cuddle with you when Travis can't! Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed reading this! Way to go mowing and moving furniture! It's amazing how much weaker I become when Logan's around as opposed to when he's not with me! I'm sure this next year will be full of things to learn and appreciate about your hubby.. even his hands and legs tapping! Love you!
