Well the Army jury was out for about 2.5 weeks on sending Travis to another Army post to get progressed in his aircraft before he deploys...and the deicsion has finally been made! He leaves Oct. 4 for Fort Hood, TX to begin training on the 5th. He is still until what level of progression they will be able to get him to. (There are 3 levels of progression and it goes backwards, 3-2-1. He would like to be RL-1, but it just depends on everything at Hood.) If he could even get half of it done he would be that much more ready for his deployment. So, this is all good news! I am not sure the dates that I will go visit him. Maybe fly with him and stay the first 1.5 weeks, then come home for a fun family visit from my sister and family. We will have to see. But as of now, Travis is coming home tomorrow :) and be home a good week and then head out to TX.
On a side note...C-Launch the nickname is now stuck with Travis. This nickname all started on his first day at the flight line for the Apache course back at Rucker. People were having a hard time saying his last name ( and in the Army, everyone goes by their last name). So, Travis told people that is was the word launch with a C in front of it. That is how you pronounce it. So, that is how C-Launch was born. Everyone called him that at Rucker and when we moved here he wanted to see how long it would take for the nickname to get out. He made it a month! (I know that if Mr. Winters, Travis's Instructor Pilot at Rucker, is reading this he is probably laughing really hard!!) Travis is now C-Launch to his whole company at Hunter. But I am still Kim! Have a great day and thanks for checking in on us! I can't wait to see my hubby tomorrow!!!
